Open Source Induction Heater Parts and Kits

fluxeonbanner

On a budget? DIY'er? We can help! We offer a line of kits and hard to find parts for the avid electronics hobbyist.

What is "Open Source" and why are we making it available? This is an entry-level machine, completely analog,
but a very sturdy and powerful induction heater. It's best suited to definite-purpose designs, where the same object
will be repeatedly heated with the same coil. Our major product offering is the Roy 1500, a fully digital design,
and is an order of magnitude above what the Roy 1200 can do.

We decided there is a lot to be gained by opening it up to the public. Anyone can make changes and improvements--
all we ask is that you keep your work open as well, and to let us know if you have a good idea.

It's important to know that we intend to continue to make changes and revisions to this project--
AND WE COUNT ON FEEDBACK FROM YOU, OUR CUSTOMER!

Current revision is 2.23.

Fast Magnetic-Hydraulic Circuit Breaker, 10A
This is a custom-made magnetic-hydraulic circuit breaker, rated 10A. The parts on Roy Simple are very sensitive, so you need a very fast way to break the circuit in case of fault or overload conditions. Great price for a highly specialized part!

$72.26
High Frequency Ferrite Transformer
This is a high-quality UY-20 ferrite split-core transformer, PC44 material. It gives you the output characteristics you want, as well as electrical isolation for safety.

Primary is wound with high-quality, double-insulated, Nylon-served Litz wire. The assembly is soaked in transformer varnish, and wrapped in a special Teflon compression shrink tape. During the oven bake-out, the compression tape squeezes everything tight, forcing out air and excess varnish.

The terminations are stripped and solder-dipped, ready to attach to the circuit board. It is supplied with the primary only--the secondary is usually three to five turns of #4 welding cable.

If you need help customizing the transformer for your application, we can usually give you solutions to well-known uses. For complex issues, our engineering services are at your disposal for only $60 an hour.
